Lawn Fertilization

This is what makes a lawn thick and deep green rather than merely cut. A dense stand of grass also crowds out weeds on its own, which is the only weed control that lasts.

Why Yard Loop is the best option for you

Treatments are applied by licensed local applicators — Yard Loop verifies the licence and insurance before anybody puts product on your lawn, because in Nebraska and Iowa this is regulated work.

What separates a real programme from a bag from the hardware store is timing and rate. Pre-emergent has to go down before soil temperatures hit crabgrass germination, not after you can see it. Nitrogen is split across the season rather than dumped in one heavy spring feed that burns and forces top growth at the expense of roots. Broadleaf work is done when the weeds are actually taking product down into the root, and rates are calibrated to your square footage rather than guessed by walking speed.

You are told what went down and what not to do afterwards — how long to keep children and pets off it, and whether it needs watering in.

What’s included

  • Scheduled fertilizer applications spread across the growing season
  • Pre-emergent weed control timed to soil conditions rather than the calendar
  • Broadleaf weed treatment through the season
  • Application across the maintained lawn areas listed in your plan

The number of rounds and what each contains are set out in your plan. Lawn size determines the work. Soil testing, grub control and lawn renovation are separate services rather than assumed parts of a programme.

Fertilization is a programme of treatments spread across the growing season, weighted towards autumn. Your own plan shows the exact schedule for your property before you agree to anything.

How Yard Loop works

  2. Yard Loop coordinates everythingScheduling, billing, reminders and communication all run through Yard Loop. One company to contact, one monthly bill, no chasing separate trades for separate jobs.
  3. Local service professionals do the workThe work is performed by qualified local contractors that Yard Loop vets, schedules and pays. They are independent businesses, not Yard Loop employees — Yard Loop is the company you deal with and the one accountable to you for getting it done.

Common questions

How many treatments does a lawn need?

Treatments are spread across the growing season so each round does a different job. The number scheduled for your property is shown in your plan before you agree to it.

When should crabgrass control go down?

Before the seed germinates, which is driven by soil temperature rather than a fixed date. Applied late it does very little, which is the main argument for a scheduled programme over occasional applications.

Why do you treat in autumn as well as spring?

Because cool-season grass does its root growth in autumn. The late-season rounds are what produce a thick lawn the following spring — a programme weighted only towards spring gives quick top growth and a lawn with nothing in reserve for August.

Will this get rid of every weed?

It substantially reduces them and keeps them suppressed. Anyone promising a permanently weed-free lawn is overselling — new seed arrives from neighbouring properties every year.

Can I have fertilization without mowing?

Yes. They work well together, but plenty of customers take one without the other.

What affects the price?

Lawn size is the main factor, along with the number of rounds. The lawn is measured rather than estimated from the street.
